Welcome to the Millennium Mosaic

Page 1

This page is the one to bookmark in your browser if you want to keep an eye on the mosaic as it progresses.  At the bottom of the page is a link to the photo album on the web, which stores all the original photos used on this page.  You can visit the album, click on a small photo, and use the larger photo that appears to email to a friend.   Any of the photos may be saved on to your own PC to use as you like.  The flood happened on August 8th 1967.  The two very old photos that start this collection were taken by Mr Bassendon, who is our village photographer.  Page two shows the early stages of assembling the pre cast pieces, Page three shows the mosaic in its final stage. Page four shows it finished, and Page five shows the opening ceremony held in September 2000.  Links to these pages are at the bottom of this page.

This is the siteof the flood garden mosaic This is the devastation the flood caused.

As you can see from the photos above, the great flood caused a great deal of damage to some of the houses in wray, and the flood garden was built where they stood.  The millennium mosaic is being built over the next few months, and will be a focal point of the garden.
